How We Planned a Seamless Union Station Wedding in Kansas City for a Long-Distance Couple
Samantha and Conner’s wedding was a study in intentionality — a celebration crafted with grace, warmth, and the kind of ease that allows love to take center stage.
From our very first conversation, they placed their trust in us to design and manage every detail, giving them the freedom to focus on life’s other milestones: graduating from law school, preparing for the bar exam, and making a move from St. Louis to Chicago.
With so much change on the horizon, our role was clear — to serve as their steady hand throughout the planning process. Every question was met with clarity, every decision guided with confidence. From afar, we worked in perfect rhythm, transforming logistics into beauty and ideas into moments they could fully experience.
Guests were greeted with custom welcome bags upon arrival — a thoughtful gesture that immediately reflected Samantha and Conner’s heart for hospitality.
Inside, a hand-drawn map of downtown Kansas City, their personalized monogram, and custom sugar cookies shaped like their beloved pup, Frank, set the tone for a weekend that was both elegant and delightfully personal.
The celebration began with a heartfelt rehearsal and dinner at J. Rieger Distillery, followed by a lively welcome party that gathered guests from near and far. Their ceremony at Christ Community Brookside was intimate and sincere, made even more meaningful by their pastor from St. Louis officiating — a beautiful bridge between their past and future.
The Reception
The reception unfolded at the iconic Union Station, where timeless architecture met modern romance. Even with the NFL Draft taking place the week before, our team navigated every detail seamlessly, ensuring that the day felt effortless for the couple and their guests. Behind the scenes, we managed countless moving parts so Samantha and Conner could simply be present.
Every element reflected their story. Ted Drewes frozen custard — a St. Louis favorite — delighted guests at dessert, while Imo’s Pizza made a surprise late-night appearance as a playful nod to their college days.
Samantha’s feminine, refined style inspired the overall design — soft textures, romantic florals, and subtle details that spoke volumes without needing to shout. Our trusted creative partners executed each vision with artistry and precision, creating a space that felt timeless and deeply personal.
The Outcome
Looking back, what stands out most is not only the beauty of the day, but the trust and friendship that grew through the process. Helping Samantha and Conner feel at peace — knowing every detail was handled and their vision was protected — was as rewarding as the celebration itself.
